A Thanksgiving Side Dish to Serve Conservatives

I’ve heard it said that family means those you eat dinner with. I really think Thanksgiving dinner disproves that. That is the one dinner you could be at with people you are embarrassed to admit are part of your family. I’m talking about your FOX NEWS loving teabagger brother-in-law. I’m also talking about your Aunt Trudie and her hubby Uncle Harold who are Ayn Rand loving right-wing libertarians. You should feel lucky that these folks at least attended the family dinner sans their white sheets and hoods. You know before the first side dishes are passed around the table they are going to say something, that is a totally ridiculous statement that anyone with measurable brain waves would know is hot flaming BULLSHIT. It is going to be some recent tidbit they heard some drug addict like Rush Limbaugh or Glen Beck say on the radio. Right-wing media is pushing these lies out fast and hard for the holidays. That is because they know their audience of mouth-breathing Cro-Magnons will repeat these lies and turn family holidays into hate-filled debates. Conservative corporate owned media wants your Aunt Trudie busy blabbing about someone getting “an entitlement” like food stamps. That way it will avoid anyone talking about real welfare “entitlement” cheats like GE that pays no taxes and get millions in corporate welfare. I want to give you some oral ammunition to fight back against that brother-in-law or aunt who have come to your Thanksgiving dinner loaded with hate filled right-wing lies. I want to give you some truth to fight their side dish of lies.

I’ve tried to cover some recent lies and some old standbys. Here goes:

The Senate voted to eliminate the ability of the minority party to filibuster most presidential nominees, a measure often ridiculously called the “nuclear option.” The Senate will now be able to cut off debate on executive and judicial branch nominees with a simple majority vote of 51 rather than a super majority of 60 votes. Rush and other conservatives have been screaming about this but we remember when Rush thought it was a great idea when the GOP had the majority in the Senate. See here.

The nation is mourning the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Meanwhile, the  conservative media  have attempted to paint JFK as a conservative. Info to fight this lie here.

More info here.

Conservatives in the media have made accusations that President Obama excised the phrase “under God” when reciting the Gettysburg Address for a project organized by filmmaker Ken Burns. The truth is that Burns asked Obama to read an early draft of the address, a draft that did not contain the phrase “under God.” Facts here.

Top 4 Obamacare Myths About Millennials.

More Obamacare Myths.

The teabagger nutcakes and Trump are still talking trash about President Obama’s birth certificate. The facts here. Trump needs to go back to what he does best……………filing bankruptcy and sticking others with his bills.

The lie that President Obama has issued more executive orders than any other president seen here.

The lie that President Obama has played more golf than any other president. The lie that President Obama has taken more vacation days than any other president. The lie that President Obama is the only president that hasn’t gone to Arlington Cemetery on Memorial Day. The lie that President Obama is the only president that hasn’t visited the state of Israel. The lie that taxes under President Obama are at an all time high. These five lies unveiled here.

The lie about Obamaphones being provided to people on welfare at taxpayers expense by President Obama was actually a program started under the GOP god Reagan as seen here.

In Just One Week Let Alone 52

ONE WEEK LET ALONE 52 WEEKS

Just this week the following happened.

The Wall Street Journal’s

“The Experts” section, is a

 very exclusive group of industry,

academic and cultural thought leaders

who weigh in on the latest debates

decided to covered Obamacare.

To do that they published

Thighmaster dizzy actress

Suzanne Summer’s insane comments

that getting more customers

for private insurance companies

is a Lenin communist plot.

FOX NEWS’s  John Stosell says women should pay more

for their healthcare because they are hypochondriacs.

He is also angry men should have to help pay

for women’s pregnancy and maternity leave

when men can’t even get pregnant.

John like most conservatives thinks

women get pregnant all by themselves.

Over at the Christian Broadcasting Network

the group Concerned Women of America

isn’t concerned food stamps were cut

to ten’s of thousands of U. S. children

but they are concerned that young adults

will now have to buy health insurance.

These women feel that if young adults

become seriously ill they can just pray.

Remember the GOP giving John Kerry  hell

after saying he was for something

 before he was against it?

This week all 27 Republican senators who voted

recently to raise the debt ceiling, pay the nation’s bills,

and reopen the government now voted in  favor

of a symbolic “resolution to disapprove” of that vote.

This week Tennessee Republican Marsha Blackburn

said this about the government  bill Obamacare

“Some people like to drive a Ford, not a Ferrari …

and some people like to drink out of a red Solo cup,

not a crystal stem. You’re taking away their choice.”

She’s a defender of freedom and the rights of all Americans to choose.

Except, of course, women’s right to choose whether to have a baby

or their rights to use contraception. That’s the government’s job.

Republican Nevada Assemblyman Jim Wheeler

said he’d bring back slavery if that was

what his constituents really wanted.

He says he’s not a bigot but he’d be willing to override

his own lack of bigotry to represent bigots.

End Times broadcaster Rick Wiles

and Joe Schimmel of Good Fight Ministries

say singer Millie Cyrus is the

poster child for Satan’s Synagogue.

Jim Jones/Jonestown cult “expert.” David Conn,

was interviewed on a right-wing radio show this week

saying that President Obama represents the

emergence of another Jim Jones-like figure

in our midst on a grand national level.

An Alabama jail guard raped a female inmate repeatedly,

and the female warden told her there was nothing

she could do about it – but put her on birth control.

Only 23 percent of Republicans surveyed

in a ABC News poll agree that it would be a good thing

if more women were elected to Congress,

compared with 60 percent of Democrats.

The Chinese government has applied

to the U.S. Department of Agriculture

to export dog and cat meat to the U.S.

A group of astronomers, from the SETI Institute and

scientists at the University of California, Berkeley

have done extensive research and come to the conclusion

that less than 1% of Exoplanet systems have intelligent life.

From just this week’s news I wouldn’t put Earth in that 1%.

Fairy Tales and Unicorns

I was sad to hear the Youngstown Community Bill of Rights was defeated again in the recent election. I have to tell you I wasn’t surprised. That is because I believe that money talks. The Mahoning Valley Coalition for Job Growth and Investment spent $74,449 to defeat the amendment, which was a proposal to ban fracking inside Youngstown city limits. That amount equals out to $12.92 per person that voted against the amendment. By contrast FrackFree Mahoning Valley, the anti-fracking group that got the amendment on the ballot spent $693. They got more bang for the buck as that worked out to 15 cents per vote.

The Mahoning Valley Coalition got their member the United Association of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 396 to put up the money which was mostly used for attack ads. Butch Taylor the business manager for Local 396 like the Coalitions other member the Regional Chamber felt the passage of the amendment would discourage jobs in the oil/gas industry. Butch needs to read articles like this about the myth of the jobs being promised in the fracking industry. I would have thought Butch would have had to have held his nose tight to get in bed with the Regional Chamber who pushed hard to try to get SB5 passed into law. SB5 would have taken away bargaining rights for Ohio’s public sector unions. I say shame on the AFL-CIO and local Democrat politicians who ignored how the chamber attacked public sector unions and got in bed with the chamber anyway.

Butch went as far as attacking the amendment as a guest on the “Tracey and Friends” radio show on the day of the election. Tracey Winbush the host of the show is a member of the Mahoning Valley Coalition for Job Growth and Investment opposed to the fracking ban. Butch said in the Warren Tribune that the amendment to ban fracking was a “job killer.” FrackFree Mahoning Valley worked hard on the amendment because they fear that fracking can be a life killer. Mike Chadsey, director of public relations for the Ohio Oil and Gas Association, said that the amendment to ban fracking was “ceremonial” and wouldn’t hold up in court. If he really felt that way he should have told the pipefitters to save their $74,449.

I’m sure that if we had already had area problems from fracking the amendment to ban it would have brought out way more than 30% of Youngstown voters and easily passed. Say for instance we had a researcher show that the 13 area earthquakes we felt were really a small part of 167 earthquakes caused by one single area fracking wastewater well, during a single year of operation. What if we had a local company caught dumping hundreds of thousands of gallons of fracking waste into the Mahoning River? What if a whole neighborhood of residents was suffering rashes and seizures from a fracking well near their homes? Surely, if something like that happened to neighbors in our valley politicians and government environmental agencies would help them. What if no politicians or agencies came to help them? What if the oil/gas companies had so much power they not only ignored the health problems of these area residents but built two more fracking wells nearby?

Would we tolerate bullies who would kick someone like these residents while they are already down? No, we are better than that! If any of these things would have happened 100% of Youngstown voters would have jammed the polling places and passed the Youngstown Community Bill of Rights. I believe area people would have felt protecting the planet and defending the weak against bullies was the moral or Christian thing to do. No Y-town ministers or priests from Youngstown’s Southside would ever be for ravaging God’s Earth and abusing our residents. I do believe sometimes it takes terrible things to happen to wake people up. I think it’s better to catch problems in the beginning instead of waiting until things are so bad that you have to jump up to reach the bottom. Had any of the above instances happened to put a bad light on the fracking industry I believe we would have run the frackers in our community out-of-town on logs. I also believe in fairy tales and unicorns.

“Blowin’ Smoke”

“The world is a wonderfully weird place, consensual reality is significantly flawed, no institution can be trusted, certainty is a mirage, security a delusion, and the tyranny of the dull mind forever threatens — but our lives are not as limited as we think they are, all things are possible, laughter is holier than piety, freedom is sweeter than fame, and in the end it’s love and love alone that really matters.”

A Minority Pawn

Photo: via Exposing Facts to the Misinformed Viewers of Fox News

I see where Florida Democrat Rep. Alan Grayson sent out campaign literature comparing the Tea Party to the Ku Klux Klan. When I heard this I said, “Um, duh.” Jennifer Burke, national outreach director for TheTeaParty.net was outraged when she heard about Grayson’s campaign material. She said, “as a black Tea Party activist, I could say that there is nothing more offensive than equating the Tea Party with the Ku Klux Klan.” She continued, “The hate speech uttered by sitting congressman Alan Grayson is deplorable, even by the low levels reached in recent years when Democrats routinely call us racists and suicide bombers.”

How could Ms. Burke and I have such varied opinions of the Tea Party? I would say it is because she is deaf, dumb and blind. Here for Ms. Burke’s eyes is my proof of the Tea Party’s racism:

racist kumbaya

racist save white america

racist obama mom and dad as monkeys

https://i0.wp.com/aattp.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/racist-hail-to-the-chief.jpg

The truest sign in the whole bunch:

Now for some articles for MS. Burke to read about her racist Tea Party:
Tea Partyers shout racist slur at White House cops.
Tea Party members says racism is over and doesn’t exist in the U.S.
Study showing Tea Party members more likely to exhibit racism.
Once again Tea Party member sends out racist Emails.
What out of the closet racists say about the Tea Party.
Videos: Proud Tea Party racists.
Tea Party panel at CPAC turns racist.
Tea Party’s racist roots.
Tea Party racists.
Tea Party candidate busted for sexism and racist Emails.
NAACP alleges Tea Party racism.
Racist North Carolina Tea Party school board wants segregation.
A Tea Party organizer asks, “Why should I ask racist to leave a Tea Party demonstration?”
Ms. Burke I must say you are the type of minority the Tea Party loves. That would be naive ones they can use to pretend they aren’t racist. As for your quote about suicide bombers, I’d say any black person that gets involved in the racist Tea Party has a suicide wish.
