My left knee reached the point of decay.
Its replacement was to be underway
on April 22, 2020, which was Earth Day.
I wanted to be able to always say,
”I recycled my knee for Earth Day.”
But, much to my utter dismay,
the surgeon’s office called to say,
the pandemic would cause a delay.
Surgery was put off until June’s second Friday.
Docs done so many knees it was child’s play.
After the operation ended, an x-ray
showed everything thing went A-OK.
With some physical therapy I’d be on my way.
I wore a mask for therapy from the first day.
Just like the sign said on the front doorway.
Three days a week I am scheduled to go.
Each time there’s this guy who won’t follow
the businesses’ posted mask memo.
I decide to call him, Maskhole.
He does wear a mask looking like Bazooka Joe.
But he doesn’t want to be part of the status quo.
so his nose is exposed and his mask sits below.
Add in dress socks with sandals that are open toe
and the ever present wife beater on his torso,
and he looks like a clownish Bozo
from a third rate carnival sideshow.
He pulls his mask under his mouth to bestow
his unwanted opinions and braggadocio,
as he pretends to be some big time honcho.
Maskhole is the physical therapy Romeo
and thinks the ladies worship him like Apollo.
Truth is, they think he’s a wacko weirdo
and are scared of his nose, near their airflow,
fearing he could be their final deathblow.
He’s always hitting on an elderly lady named, Flo.
She suffers a balance problem due to vertigo.
He exercises his wrists and elbows,
all done at a very slow tempo.
I want to say listen up bucko
and quit being a dumbass schmoe.
But maybe I’m being hard on this fellow,
perhaps he’s just not in the know.
After all, masks don’t have instructions.
To me, it seems like a very easy deduction
and can be done without a major production.
It’s a very simple solution,
to stop the virus infestation
and help save our nation.
It’s no breathing obstruction
A mask below you nose makes you a potential assassin
and is like a condom with a hole to expose your foreskin.
So, don’t be a dick
who makes others sick.
